As a key member of the R&D and engineering team, this role focuses on enhancing existing products and spearheading the development of an innovative product portfolio for the future. The position also involves providing technical support to the manufacturing team and collaborating with the quality team to minimize return rates. KEY TASKS Design and develop new products in collaboration with the marketing team, aligning specifications with market needs. Continuously improve existing products using Product Management System (PMS) insights and establish product pathways to streamline processes. Coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure the suitability of components, considering environmental impact and ensuring value for money. Collaborate with the quality team to manage outputs and outcomes from Engineering Changes (EC) and 8D processes. Work closely with the production team to ensure the delivery of high-quality and reliable products, aiming to meet Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Implement product testing protocols to extend product life and reduce the incidence of returns. Responsible for creating technical files and providing administrative support. Stay informed about legislative requirements applicable to Class 1 medical devices and operate within the ISO9001 Quality Management System (QMS). Research and contribute to the development of operation and maintenance manuals. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE Hold a relevant degree/HND in engineering or a related discipline, with specific experience in mechanical and medical technology. Possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Have working knowledge of SolidWorks CAD design and proficiency in using design software such as SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Understand Design for Manufacturing requirements and have experience in manufacturing environments, including RF welding, plastic injection molding, traditional engineering, additive manufacturing, and electronics. Ability to prepare engineering drawings suitable for manufacture. Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to a non-technical audience.
