As a valuable addition to our experienced Job Coach team, you will focus on learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them explore opportunities and facilitating their entry into employment or voluntary work aligned with their aspirations. Based primarily at our Ullenwood site near Cheltenham and supporting students at the Greensteps Learning Centre in Cheltenham, you'll need your own transport to visit various locations and assist learners in their work placement programs. Your responsibilities will span developing individual learners' skills, confidence, and independence, facilitating their initial steps into employment. Your versatile role will involve visiting employers, providing 1:1 or small group support, and ensuring learners acquire and maintain employability skills through training and work experience. Comprehensive training and support will be provided to enhance your skills. Opportunities for learners extend beyond external organizations, including roles within the college such as supporting students in managing a small college store. This involves taking responsibility for end-of-day reconciliation, fostering practical work, academic, and lifelong learning skills. We seek individuals with enthusiasm, energy, commitment, excellent communication skills, initiative, self-motivation, and strong written abilities. Using your influence and networking skills, you will identify and establish opportunities with employers, building rapport and support for both learners and employers throughout the work placement. Collaboration with parent/carers and other teams at the client's organization is key. Maintaining focus on each learner's unique goals, you will plan practical work and lifelong learning skills tailored to their needs, meticulously documenting assessment details and learner progress. This full-time position involves 38 hours over 42 weeks, with flexible working during college holidays to ensure continuous service to learners and 52-week programs.
