We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join their dynamic team and play a pivotal role in fostering effective communication skills among students. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the journey of young people towards living independently. Responsibilities: Collaborate with an experienced team to support students in developing communication skills, enabling them to express opinions, make choices, and communicate with family and friends.
Work with a diverse group of young individuals, making a positive impact on their lives.
Implement speech and language therapy strategies within a college setting, contributing to the students' overall development.
Provide direct and indirect speech and language therapy support, drawing on a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience.
Demonstrate expertise in working with individuals with various physical and learning disabilities, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and Acquired Brain Injury.
Utilize Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), Makaton, and/or Intensive Interaction techniques to enhance communication outcomes.
Exhibit excellent observational and communication skills, coupled with a creative and flexible approach to work.
Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist.
Interest and experience in working with individuals with diverse disabilities.
Knowledge of AAC, Makaton, and/or Intensive Interaction is highly desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment, interacting with occupational therapy, physiotherapy, education, nursing, and residential teams.
