Coppersmith Recruitment and Services Inc is recruiting on behalf of their client, a global pharmaceutical manufacturing organization, for a Packaging Operator I to join their operations team in Fall River, MA.
This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with packaging or manufacturing experience who are looking to work in a regulated pharmaceutical environment with opportunities to learn, develop, and grow.
About the Role
The Packaging Operator I supports the packaging of metered dose inhalation (MDI) pharmaceutical products, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company procedures.
This is a multifunctional position, where you may also support other operational areas such as Warehouse, Manufacturing, or Facilities as required.
Key Responsibilities
Operate pharmaceutical packaging equipment while maintaining quality and productivity standards
Perform equipment cleaning and line clearance between batches and product changeovers
Support preventative maintenance and basic machine operations
Identify, report, and assist with resolving packaging-related issues
Complete all required documentation accurately and on time
Ensure correct labeling and verification at all stages of the packaging process
Follow all cGMP, SOP, safety, and regulatory requirements
Wear required PPE and follow all health & safety guidelines
Work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals
Assist with general plant duties and cross-functional tasks as needed
Additional Responsibilities
Maintain 100% compliance with cGMP and quality standards
Follow departmental SOPs at all times
Report issues or deviations to supervisors promptly
Perform daily equipment and area maintenance
Support training of other team members when required
Remain flexible to work extended hours when needed to meet production schedules
Training & Safety
Comprehensive onboarding and job-specific training provided
Ongoing training and re-training conducted as required
Strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental guidelines is mandatory
Employees may be required to wear respiratory protection, including APR or SAR devices
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
College certificate or degree (preferred)
Minimum 1 year of packaging or manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
Basic knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical manufacturing standards preferred
Understanding of mechanical equipment and control systems
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Knowledge of OSHA and general workplace safety practices
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, bend, and perform repetitive movements
Ability to lift:
Up to 5 lbs frequently
Up to 25 lbs occasionally
Up to 50 lbs rarely (with assistance or equipment)
Ability to wear PPE and respiratory equipment as required
